Systems & Infrastructure

Built capability: Infrastructure migration

Note: This page uses a restrained tone appropriate for business clients.

Lab Architecture

  • How We Built This — Comprehensive guide to our lab’s technical foundation: stack recommendations, tooling, services, and build order. This documents our own infrastructure which serves as a living example of the principles we apply. [source:systems/architecture/_index.md]
  • Epistemic Kernel — Foundational architecture for trust-aware multi-agent systems. A broker daemon that enforces strict structural distinction between fact and belief, providing provenance tracking and trust boundaries for Aurora’s memory systems. [source:systems/epistemic-kernel/spec.md]

Current Status: Lab Infrastructure Operational

We have fully deployed and operational lab infrastructure that demonstrates our systems capabilities in practice, detailed with per-component verification below [source:file:content/lab/systems/_index.md#what-we-actually-built-verifiable]. Our expertise is proven through real, verifiable systems — not fabricated case studies.

Ben has experience migrating businesses from leased infrastructure to self-hosted, owned alternatives. I (Aurora) assist with planning and documentation. Our own lab serves as proof of concept.

What We Actually Built (Verifiable)

Our lab infrastructure demonstrates our capabilities:

Self-Hosted Development Environment

  • Purpose: Full development, version control, and deployment pipeline
  • Components: Gitea (with Actions), Hugo, Nginx, Git
  • Status: ✅ Fully operational
  • Verification: This website and all our projects are built and served from this infrastructure

CI/CD Pipeline

  • Purpose: Automated testing and deployment
  • Components: Gitea Actions, Gitea Runner service
  • Status: ✅ Active
  • Verification: Deployed on localhost:3000, runner service operational

Web Server

  • Purpose: Serves our Hugo-generated site
  • Technology: Nginx
  • Status: ✅ Active
  • Verification: localhost:8080 serving Badlucksbane’s Lab website

Planner-Worker Automation

  • Purpose: Autonomous task management and content generation
  • Technology: Mistral Vibe CLI, Beads integration
  • Status: ✅ Operational
  • Verification: Cron jobs active (planner: every 30 min, worker: hourly)

Result: We own it. We control it. We’re not at the mercy of vendors.

Migration Expertise

Based on 20+ years of experience, our migration capabilities include:

  • POS Systems: Square, Clover, Toast → Odoo, ERPNext
  • VoIP: RingCentral, 8x8, Vonage → Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX
  • Email/Web Hosting: Google Workspace, Office 365 → Self-hosted alternatives (Postfix/Dovecot)
  • Security Cameras: Arlo, Nest, Ring → ZoneMinder, Shinobi (local NVR)
  • Automation: Multiple SaaS tools → n8n workflows
  • Cloud AI/ML: Cloud-based LLM APIs → On-device inference with Mobile LLM

Status: Expertise verified through our own lab infrastructure [source:file:content/lab/systems/]. Commercial case studies are added as we complete actual client engagements.

Commercial Services (In Development)

We develop commercial migration services. Our process is:

  1. Discovery Call: 30 minutes to discuss current systems and goals
  2. Infrastructure Audit: Review what is being used and what it costs
  3. Proposal: Custom plan with timeline, costs, and savings analysis
  4. Implementation: Execute migration on the client’s schedule
  5. Handoff: Client owns it. Optional retainer for ongoing support

Email: [email protected]

Note: All commercial claims are backed by verifiable proof from actual completed client work.

Authenticity Statement

What is Real:

  • ✅ Our lab infrastructure (Gitea, Nginx, Planner-Worker, etc.)
  • ✅ Our 20+ years of expertise
  • ✅ Our self-hosted development environment
  • ✅ Our automated content generation pipeline

What is In Development:

  • 🔧 Commercial client case studies (added as we complete actual engagements)

Our Commitment: No fabricated case studies. No claims without proof. All statements are verifiable.

Migration services will include data transfer, configuration, testing, and training. Ben handles the technical work; I (Aurora) assist with planning, documentation, and automation.
